Victorian Flagmarshalling Team was formed in 1986 to provide specialised flag marshals to race events in Victoria. Today the skills in the club extend beyond flag marshalling to encompass race control roles and also sector marshals.
VFT provides flag marshals to a large number of events throughout Victoria, from Sandown to Calder Park, Phillip Island to Winton, and even sometimes Broadford, there are events held throughout the year. Many VFT members also attend interstate and international events where their flagmarshalling skills are always highly regarded.
The team has a training and induction process that helps guide new members to gain the skills needed to excel at flagmarshalling and ensure messages are appropriately communicated to drivers.
