Victorian Historic Racing Register

The Victorian Historic Racing Register was established in 1976 to promote historic motorsport in Victoria.

VHRR runs the Phillip Island Classic, Winton Festival of Speed and Historic Sandown each year, as well as a hillclimb at Rob Roy. Each of these events is attended by a range of historic vehicles, from the J, K and Lb classes catering to the vehicles from pre 1930 to 1960, through to the Porsche 944s which are still popular enough for a grid of their own. Some events even get historic Formula 1 cars (like the pair of Ferraris from 1986 as driven by Michele Alboreto and Stefan Johansson which were at Phillip Island Classic in 2025) or the Porsche 917/30 which caused significant upheaval in the Cam-Am series of the 1970s.

These days VHRR offers a live stream of most of their events, but nothing beats being there in person and feeling the cars as they roar past.
