Women for Wheels of SA was founded in 1971 when a group of Racing Driver Wives decided a more professional approach was required for trackside fire and rescue services.
WFW provides fire and rescue services to race venues throughout South Australia, including events at the Adelaide Parklands Circuit, The Bend, Mallala and others. No longer limited to just circuit racing, the team supports hillclimbs, tspecialty historic vehicle events such as the Bay to Birdwood, speedboat racing and speedway events.
For some of the larger events Women For Wheels coordinates fire/rescue marshals from interstate as part of the team.
