Formula 1 is the second oldest race series in the world having begun in 1950, and is widely regarded as the pinnacle of motorsport. With races occurring throughout the world and a truely international contingent of drivers, it’s hard to dispute this.
The series features the fastest single seater cars and is known for allowing teams to push boundaries through the use of technology and aerodynamics. Each year, a World Drivers Champion is awarded, as is a Constructors Championship. Both of these awards are hihgly regarded throughout motorsport and in general.
The Australian Grand Prix became a part of the Formula One World Championship in 1985 when Adelaide began hosting the last race of the season. In 1996 it moved to Melbourne where it has remained since.
