The Australian Sports Sedan Association runs a championship over 5 rounds held in conjunction with the Victorian State Circuit Race Series (now known at the Trophy Tour Victoria).
Sports Sedans are derived from a mass-produced car (with more than 5000 units being produced), but are highly modified. Most cars are built around a space frame and retain some semblance of their origin, although with the addition of wings and body kits, and the engine limitations of 6 litre capacity they can look and sound significantly different. These rules mean that at some tracks the sports sedans are faster than the Supercars.
The Australian Sports Sedan Association organises one round of the Trophy Tour Victoria; colloquially known as the “Hot Dog Round” due to the supply of hot dogs for the officials lunches on Sunday.
