As Michael is also a member of the CFA he decided to try out the Fire and Rescue aspect of motorsport officiating.
Michael joined the team from Victorian Fire & Rescue Squad at the Phillip Island Auto Racing Club (PIARC) April Access day at Calder Park. The day was spent in the sole fire vehicle at the crossover (between Thunderdome and the National Circuit) and although there weren’t any call-outs it was a chance for him to learn about the Fire and Rescue requirements of motorsport.
