Michelle and Michael went to Mt Tarrengower Hillclimb so Michelle could get some more experience with Fernando test her skills on a longer, wider track.
Once Fernando was unloaded and space had been found with other Austin 7 Club members, Michael offered to assist with officiating and was asked to check the driver’s for helmets, gloves, belts and that there were no loose items in the cockpit. This was soon changed to looking after the paddock return so the team from VFRS could get on track if required and cars could return after each group had competed.
Michelle had some reasonable runs up the hill before the car overheated on the start line. With the temperature gauge still showing an acceptable temperature, one of the Austin 7 Club members (Walter) came to Michelles rescue and helped clean out and replace a significant amount of the cooling system.
What a different some cooling makes; on the next run Michelle went from just over 100 seconds to around 90 seconds.
